Many everyday consumer and industrial products contain chemicals which are identified by the State of California to cause cancer and/or birth defects or other reproductive harm. Californians passed Proposition 65 (Prop 65 or P65) to ensure that the users of products understand the chemicals contained in those products, and the risks these products pose. Prop 65 became known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986.
This law is intended to inform Californians of the risks of exposure to certain chemicals in their homes or workplaces and allow them to make reasonable decisions and to protect themselves from harm.
The State of California has identified and listed known hazardous chemicals on its website www.p65warnings.ca.gov. Orange Research has reviewed the requirements on this list and has found that its products contain components that contain chemicals on that list.
Orange Research is complying with P65 by adding the appropriate warning labels to its product packaging, its website and its manuals. The products that Orange Research supplies contain Stainless Steel, which contains amounts of Nickel, known to the State of California to cause cancer or reproductive harm.
Proposition 65 warnings do not mean that a product is in violation of safety standards or regulations. In addition, these warnings do not mean our products will cause cancer or reproductive harm.
Since our products are supplied worldwide, through many types of distribution channels and product integrators, we have decided to add the appropriate warnings to all products shipped, not only those shipped to California.
The State of California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment, OEHHA, has a comprehensive website that contains complete information about the requirements of Prop 65, https://oehha.ca.gov/proposition-65.
